I have been pointing out to AS that Kerry is going to have to make a decision soon as to whether or not he wants to accept matching funds. It appears that he may have made that decision. If he does accept matching funds, his coffers will probably be drained in March of next year. Rove would beat him like a drum for six months and he would not be able to respond. Dole found himself in that position in 1996. The comment on Drudge probably ties into this item that I found in yesterday's Chicago Sun Times: $$$$$$$$$ . . . Word is that Dem presidential hopeful U.S. Sen. John Kerry has called together a meeting of top Dem fund-raisers and strategists for a daylong brainstorming session in Washington, D.C., next week. *To wit: U.S. Sen. Dick Gephardt might be a popular Dem contender on the labor front, but Kerry is fast becoming the Dems' more popular fella. suntimes.com
