The full theory is a lot more comprehensive than the impact of wars. It is really based on creation and destruction of infrastructures. Needless to say that massive economic shift always has socio-political baggages that go with it. Among other things, the destructive part of the wave holds a cluster of very innovative inventions which are not fully appreciated until about 10 years after their creation.
