Hi Rock_nj, here is a link to a very detailed timeline of 9/11. cooperativeresearch.org It appears that Flt 77 turned off its transponder. It also appears that interceptor jets were scrambling pretty fast, but obviously not fast enough. Hope this helps a little. Chris
