Once again, I'm surprised at how little I know about the nation that I admire vastly more than my own. I had no idea that the Toronto Chinese community was so large. Reminds me of chatting with some Francophones here on SI and being amazed to learn that there are 7 MM French speakers in Canada. It is a wonderment what the American public never learns either through our schools or our media.

I have a friend here in Central Oregon who is the head of our local chapter of Amnesty International. He's in his late 40's, has a wife and three teen-aged children and he's so distressed about the rise of fascism in the U.S. that he's actually considering moving his entire family to Canada. I'd rather stay here and try to take the country back from the militarists, but he may be the wiser for getting away from this vicious nation of thieves and scoundrels.
