Great find Denis! I have friends in HK and they tell me people are buying Ribavirin off the shelf in large volume - beliving is half the battle! "Certainly there's still no other better treatment for people with SARS than ribavirin and steroids," said Yeoh Eng-kiong, Hong Kong's secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, at a news conference Tuesday. SARS is caused by a new strain of coronavirus, a germ behind the common cold. Doctors in Toronto say they are having varying degrees of success with the ribavirin-steroids regime. But rather than waiting for results from randomized studies, which could take some time to conduct, the doctors hope to glean some answers by studying their combined experience. Toronto has 261 probable and suspected cases and has had 14 deaths.
