Russian official predicts 'catastrophic' events

I read that earlier this afternoon and found it interesting. But who knows what he means? It could be that the Russians have some inside knowledge about just how obstinate Kim Jong Il has become, or that they are leveraging themselves to play an active role in the negotiations in order to prevent China from usurping the role Russia has felt it played in being the primary interface with the NK government.

I hope it's just political rumormongering with little substance. But I don't put it past Kim Jong Il to try and up the anty substantially.
