John,
My point was that there will be many mistakes but overall the grade remains good. Getting it right doesn't mean getting everything right initially. And learning from one's errors is really key just as it is in life. Yes, things post war have not gone as well as we would all like, but they are going as well as can be expected in a post war environment. Bet their was some chaos in germany, japan and pre-marshall plan europe as well. It comes with the territory. I would just occasionally like to see credit given when due to this administration by folks who opposed the war. I just dont hear it--they just seem to move from one issue to the other without ever recognizing any success or admitting that they were wrong about anything regarding the war/bush policy. mike
