What is it with the Post anyways, we finally manage to put some cold water on the quebec separatists, and here the Post goes trying to fan western separatism.

While Alberta may be the richest province, it is not soley in charge of its own destiny, despite what many albertans believe. In the end its the oil markets that dictate the level of prosperity in Alberta, which despite the agricultureal/ high tech/ and tourism sector, is still the only game in town as far as provincial prosperity geos.
