NK has not demonstrated missiles that can get beyond Japan. Any guesses about what they might be able to do but haven't yet proven a capability to do, are just that: guesses, not backed up by any hard facts.

Your re-post: This is just fear-mongering. Just like all the emphatic statements from the White House, that they were 110% sure Saddam had WMD and was going to give them to Bin Laden, unless we attacked right now. One of the casualties of the Iraq war, was the truth. I expect my government to lie, to say whatever they think they can get away with saying, for propaganda purposes.

I consider missiles to be a side issue. It really doesn't change anything basic, whether they have missiles that can deliver sarin and/or plutonium and/or massive numbers of conventional artillery rounds, to the capital cities of South Korea and/or Japan and/or your hometown. Any and all of the above, is a credible deterrent. At this point, I see no choice, but to deal with NK, the same way we dealt with the Soviet Union. The only other choice, is to get a multilateral coalition, that must include at a minimum the Chinese and South Korea, to have effective economic sanctions and/or blockade.
