The separate carb thing...
I did it by planning my day's food. Let's say I'm having a steak and baked potato. I'm supposed to eat the steak and save the potato for later. Since I should wait for thirty minutes after eating carbs and two hours after fat or protein, I eat the potato first, wait the half hour, then have the steak. That way, I cut the time I spend eating, or thinking, about food.
If there was a way to let loose and lose weight, I'm sure I'd have discovered it by now. I've let loose quite a bit, and, unfortunately, gained weight every time.
At times I'm convinced my scale has a one-way, ratcheting, needle. It's discouraging. It's tough. Even typing makes me hungry. Discovering that the separation eating works has been a relief.
