William, The word "beleagured" is certainly too strong. But the TIVO balance sheet is not exactly pristine, either. Before the dot.com bust, companies with real potential, even though they were losing money, could get some degree of respect. Not now (and that presents opportunity, if you can guess right). The reason I posted the article was the Apple / Tivo speculation. The Tivo brand and superior interface, coupled with the Apple marketing capability and marketing dollars is interesting. To me it looks a perfect fit; Apple has managed to survive in a commodity Windows world by excellent marketing of a proprietary, more expensive but more elegant solution. That could be what Tivo's future looks like; lots of competitive solutions, none as elegant, or as expensive. The odds of an Apple / Tivo combo are somewhere between very remote and zero. Still, it makes some sense to me. John
