I'm busy doing a project now that I will then ask for money for. Well it is a "pilot project". This is more likely to be funded because I know up front that it will work. Also I can hurry to publish in case anyone tries to steal the idea in the funding application process :) Results are looking petty good after a few months of playing around with this computer model trying to work out how to set it up. It is a new type of econometric model but is applied to the global climate system. Seems the results are the closest to any of those big supercomputer global climate models of any time series model yet. And when estimated you can do simulations on a spreadsheet. Of course it has a very crude resolution - just two hemispheres, while they have degree square resolution and many layers. But the regional results are so far pretty unreliable from those models.
