No different to the track record of KKK in "Democratic USA" as far as I know.

And where it's a federal offense to commit a "hate crime".

Will Muslim Theocratic governments make it a "hate crime" to oppress non-muslims?

Listen Kumar.. I understand that Islam has a history of tolerance of other religions.. But that STILL doesn't indicate a tolerance for the non-religious, or outright atheistic members of a country.

the meantime "something" needs to fill the void between totaliarism and democracy. In many parts of the world, Theocracy does that.

I would rather have a "strong-man" dictatorship rather than a politicized and/or militant clergy. Theocracies look for "great Satans" to account for their inability to manage daily economic and political affairs. An Iraqi Pinochet, or Musharraf, would be far preferable.

Why this seemingly overwhelming belief that a Caliphate style Theocracy should be considered a viable governmental system when it was shown to be aggressive and imperialistic in the past? That's like bringing back the "divine right of kings" concept and tying it to the Catholic church..
