There have been several studies that support that in a broader way. The essence is that you become what you chose to become. We apparently have the most neural pathways active at puberty. What we don't use, we lose.

In other words, if watching tv (or posting on message boards <ggg>) controls a large part of our life, other neural pathways will disappear. The result is that we may have a generation geared to video games and normally passive activities. This may also explain how well our soldiers did with the Apache helicopters and other high tech machinery, which is very similar to a video game.
