<<If ANET's revenue problems are due to demand and poor management why would
ASND want to buy it? it could hurt ASND's stock price badly in the short run.>>

From the previous post:

<<ANET is big into WAN, voice-over FR, and is now getting into high-density,
voice-over IP.>>

First I should say I know nothing about ANET.

However, while we on SI worry about short-term stock price, companies
think STRATEGICALLY. The investors on this thread need to think
strategically as well.

If CSCC's FR sales are really taking off, perhaps they need some of ANET's
technology (like the voice-over FR) to satisfy customer's needs. The
fact the company is currently in trouble would make no difference (and
would be a plus due to lower purchase price).

The CSCC merger has gone very well, so it is no barrier to further
acquisitions, IMO.

We should not dismiss this out of hand, and IF there is something to
it, we should trust ASND/CSCC mgt to know what they are doing - EVEN
if Wall Street doesn't like it. They didn't like CSCC at first either,
but they are also only thinking short term.
