I glean that from the content of your posts.

And it is not the tax consequences of the exercise that we are speaking of here, not the tax consequences to the individual, but the determination of "profit" and hence the tax consequences to the CORPORATION that is at issue FROM THE GRANTING, NOT EXERCISE, of the stock option to the employee.

Aside from that your pretty much correct.

And I pretty guessed that you haven't been following the posts, mine and others, over the last three years or so.

Just a hunch, now.
