speaking of newly minted stuff, has the Liberty Dollar been discussed yet? I happened to run across some stuff about it -- it has a 1/10th silver backing, roughly. libertydollar.org There are actually a few businesses that accept it in Washington State. Also I ran across an article about the State of Nevada printing up $50 [edit: $50 million] of it's own money partly in order to challenge the Federal Reserve: insightmag.com There's Disney Dollars already, but if P.T. Barnum wants to print some for their circus, they'll have to come up with an alternative to the naturally named "Clown Buck." <g>
