That's not quite the only reason, Buddy. I happened to be in Australia during Jan-Feb of this year and read most of the major city papers throughout the country. Without resorting to a ridiculously long post, here's a couple of quickies: Australia's northern border is sparsely inhabited and very close to Indonesia. A large part of their concern was Saddam's alleged support for Indonesia's terrorists who could easily use the northern border as a point of entry. The US and Australia share a large number of military installations and interests throughout the South Pacific and Indian Ocean. Australia does trade extensively with Middle Eastern countries for oil with food and even automobiles but was willing to take the risk based more upon the above and the Bush/Blair assertions than wheat sales (which is ALWAYS a concern for the Australians). I don't think Australia will end up as a net loser for having sided with the Americans and British but we'll see. Regards--MK--
