No, actually, you wouldn't. The President can say, "I know", "I have evidence", "Trust me; I can't give details for National Security reasons", without having any factual evidence, evidence that would convince disinterested observers.

And, with that fabricated story about Iraq importing uranium from Chad, we already know they (US and UK governments) are capable of manufacturing evidence, and having the highest officials justify their policies using it. What I'm proposing is little different than that, a lie they already got caught at.

When the President wanted evidence of a Iraq-Al Queda link, he ordered the CIA to find evidence. When they couldn't, he just said, "I know; trust me."
