First - my real point was that you were chiding Zonder for criticizing (again) US policies even as you were criticizing (again) French policies. There is a symmetry there that you were overlooking.

As for endorsing the French policies - no I don't expect you to do that. But I do hope there is room to respect that they have a right to their own policies. Even though they will sometimes conflict with US policies (and US national interests).
...And, again - at present the indications are that Iraq is free of WMD. Which implies that, under 1441, inspections were the right course of action. So is it right to condemn the French position?

(I know - that is tantamount to leaving Saddam the butcher in power which is also unacceptable.But I don't think that the UN can ever authorize the overthrow of a "legitimate" (duly recognized) government.)
