France hasn't stated they are certain Iraq doesn't have WMD. And you take that as proof that Iraq did have WMD.

Considering that France was vehemently, almost desperately, trying to prevent the Iraq war and save Saddam's hide, don't you think they might have said this if they thought they could have gotten away with it? Instead, M. de Villepin said that war was unnecessary because the inspections had "contained" Iraq's WMD programs, thus admitting that they existed.

Now why do you think he said that?
