If you wanted to have even a snowball's chance in hell that this was a US government sponsored conspiracy, the 9/11 attack would have gone like this: 1. An terrorist takes off from an airfield near NYC (like Bridgeport) in a single or twin engine airplane packed with high explosives. 2. 15 minutes later, The terrorist flies the plane into one of the WTC towers and it detonates on impact. That's all that would have been needed for us to justify wiping out the Taliban. So to think they would have concocted this 4 plane, 20 person conspiracy is rediculous. Like has been posted here by others, one golden rule of conspiracies is to keep the group small.
