I'm very impressed that you've taken the time, expense and effort to dig so deeply into this. Thanks for being such a concerned citizen. We could sure use more of us who have profound questions about the Bush Administration's handling of this investigation. There are red flags all over this thing.

I think the theory behind tall building demolitions is fairly straightforward. It's mainly about gravity and how to create structural instability in a controlled fashion. The devil, as always, is in the details.

I agree. The residual radioactivity would have been too obvious. The thermite/magnesium cutting theory is worth pursuing, IMO. There are tantalizing anecdotes about this, but nothing definitive. In the way of a magician engaging in distraction to perform a sleight-of-hand trick, secondary fires or destruction of key support columns would have been missed by nearly all of the audience due to the drama of the fires in the upper stories of the WTC towers.

That was also my first thought when I read the theory of charges being set in the seconds before the collapses. I've read just enough about the recorded seismic activity from the upstate University lab to not feel any confidence about the timing sequence, or the force exerted on the bedrock when the buildings pancaked. One thing I believe is a certainty, the Kean Commission is not authorized to investigate this tantalizing lead.

And once again I'll reiterate for the sake of lurkers that this "real investigation" is precisely what the Bushies are trying to obstruct. That in itself ought to make Americans extremely suspicious, but alas, this doesn't seem to be the case.
I recall all the wild speculations that were circulating in the aftermath of the John Kennedy assassination in late 1963 and early 1964. Among my relatives, almost no one believed the official story, though my parents were basically mum about the situation. (I was 13 at the time and a real babe in the woods.) The craziest stuff I was aware of was some remarkable numerology theories that were circulating in Catholic communities in Chicago. My first introduction to "666" as a significant number. I dismissed all this a quackery, but there was a solid and specific reason that so many Americans were coming up with seemingly rational theories and several crackpot ones. It was because in our gut, almost all of us realized that the government was lying.
