Sector,

You make good points about the potential of the markets ACT is active in. One other poster today slammed them in this regard, but I don't agree with him (as many on this thread know I am an active participant in this market, so my views may viewed as either somewhat skewed or expert- you pick.)

ACT is a key player in the integrated voice and data market, particularly in developing smaller, less costly products than were previously available in the networking marketplace. This market has been growing moderately strongly (at least 19% CAGR) for a few years. It seems to be heating up, if anything, with major efforts from CSCO and Nortel (I work for a division of Nortel), and imressive products from MOT and several new entrants.

ANET statements about the use of the SourceCom product as a hihger-performance platform than they currently have, mean they can address more of the frame relay market. In fact this means they could compete with CSCC in some applications. ANET resells the CSCC stuff now (at least I think they still do), so at least a few units of CSCC would be displaced by ANET product.

One may argue whether ANET will be successful in their chosen markets, but the markets are definitely growing.
