OT ~ part 2 of the fun :)

> This is most efficiently done, by beginning with the conclusion, and working backward to the needed assumptions.

I think Plato said as much about science. Many people do this indeed. But progress is made by those who keep their minds open. So in the end, they are the ones who win the "debate". And in all cases, a logical contradiction is found unacceptable by most. So while I may not be able to disprove existence of God (which I would not want anyway) I can show many inconsistencies in His reported communiqué.

> is that the same event will be observed very differently, by people with different assumptions about how the world works.

Well, almost. As Douglas Adams put it, "...Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much... the wheel, New York, wars, and so on, whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely the dolphins believed themselves to be more intelligent than man for precisely the same reasons". It is not the observation per se that is often in dispute, but the conclusions from that observation.

> By definition, God does things you can't understand

I am sorry, but I never accepted that definition. In fact, I have never read that definition in any holy book. As far as creationism is concerned (from any religion's perspective) God is God because he created the world, NOT because we cannot understand what he does. However, plenty of priests in every religion have blamed their inability to come up with answers on our limited intellect. This is because either they were unable to modify their illogical view of God, or because they found it futile to ask the faithful wait until human understanding catches up with the reasons. My guess is both.

> So, it is presumptuous of you to question why God made fossils or Koalas.

Not at all. If you were a Muslim (which I am not) you are explicitly instructed to ponder the creation and seek the wisdom of the universe around you. Can you find me where in Bible it says you must not do the same?
