Yes everything seems to be on track. Even the lone isolation of the US similar to what befell Germany before and during World War II. Remember, the US has still to be tested against the collective army might of the World. The Germans thought they were on top of the world and that they did not have to care for anybody. They were not quite right and the WWII proved that.

At least Bush has to care for the American electorate. Let us see him keep the economy "on track" "It is the economy stupid"

You can conveniently say that Osama, Mullah and Saddam is not relevant. But come on and utter to the US electorate that jobs are irrelevant and it is OK to have jobs vanish in the same way that the three have.
