Video over INAP T1's a success!

This week was a milestone for our company. We tested our new IP based video conferencing equipment across our Internap and Blue Ridge VPN's in two offices across the country from each other.

I am glad to report to the board that the Video Conferencing was a total success. The quality was outstanding, there was no jitter or latency that we noticed and the video conferencing was instant. For the first time, people in our different offices were actually able to meet each other virtually.

This is possible because of our investment in Internap and Blue Ridge. Now, we can video conference for FREE because we are using IP and our existing internet connections. It's remarkable when you think about it, because it is now cheaper for our offices to video conference each other than it is to call each other. (We have not deployed VOIP yet.)

The instant on, free nature of IP video conferencing will encourage frequent use of this technology and, I think, could have profound implications for our corporate culture long term. I'll keep everyone posted on how this plays out over the year...
