I find Christianity the most appealing, when it focusses on the actual words of Christ. If the message and practice of Christianity was nothing but the Sermon On the Mount, I would be a Christian. But most Christians, and Christian institutions, seem to guide their beliefs more by the Old Testament

This is the similar to what my father used to tell me. He believed early Christianity was the only religion worth its salt. He also thought there is too much undue emphasis on Old Testament.

One of these days when I have the time, I will research when, how, and why Old Testament was included in Bible and how did it come to be so influential. If anyone here knows the answer I'd appreciate the knowledge.
