It does look like BBC has crossed the thin line and joined the likes of MSNBC and CNN. I hate to see this since in the 70's and 80's I used to listen to them quite a bit. It seemed to me, that in those days they managed to remain relatively neutral. I guess that today there is as much 'public' concern in 'public broadcasting' and there is in 'public servants'.

For the most part, I still hold a certain amount of respect for NPR. They came under a tremendous amount of pressure to become the "Propaganda Broadcasting Service" after the Thomas hearings, but somehow managed not to totally cave in. I only listen to them sporadically, yet note an effort to present both sides of the story. This I cannot say of any other major player.

[Side note: it seems present road to the pulpit of Moral High Ground, leads through a prolonged stay in the sewers of manipulation and corruption.]
