I see. They admitted their study was flawed, which is more than you'll get out of any Christian regarding THEIR beliefs, imo and experience, of course. There may be super tolerant fundamentalists Christians out there, but so far I haven't met them. I admit that they might exist, but until I have some proof, I'll just have to figure that fundamentalist views are represented by the people I've met who are fundamentalists, and they were uniformly aghast at homosexuals, who are homosexuals. I mean what's the point in calling yourself homosexual if you aren't, in fact, going out with people of the same sex? So, that hate the sin love the sinner stuff? Doesn't work for people who believe in behaviorism. IMO we ARE our behavior. And if you hate what a person is, you hate the person. Oh you can SAY you don't- but the evidence is all there that such hate spreads to the person. We've all seen it in the world, and we've all seen it on SI.
And if you deny homosexuals the right to love one another, you deny them adult human love, which, imo, we all have a right to, and is, imo, as close to a basic human right as you will ever get.
Since you wish to present the other side, show us some holy rollers who think it's ok to be homosexual. Where ARE those bible belters who thing it's great to be gay? Trot them out, if they exist. It's time to put up, or shut up- imo, of course. |
