Yeah I read the piece.

If Bush erred, it was by focusing too much on WMDs in order to gain the support of those who couldn't care less about Iraqis as long as their own lives (or livelihoods, as seemed to be your biggest concern) weren't on the line.

Oh my livelihood is my largest concern is it? And what exactly would be YOUR largest concern then? The plight of the poor iraqi citizenry, give me a break. I have said all along I think a strong global economy and economic prosperity for the world is far more important than fighting wars to promote global democracy. But beyond that, what difference does it make what my largest concern was? The iraqi citizens don't want us in their country and a whole bunch of people were killed.

The fact is the iraq regime was not worse than many regimes (and imo was much BETTER for women than much of the ME) and as far as the "something had to be done" mantra, well something has to be done about a lot of things, doesn't mean the US should bomb every rogue country into oblivion and take out its leaders leaving a vacuum for terrorism to breed.

Anyway, WMDs were not the only valid reason for taking action against Saddam.

Well then why present it as such. The Bush WH can just put their cards on the table and see what kind of support they get. It beats lying to the citizens anyway.
