Ibexx, re: "Bagel Dilemmna", "Certainly a different perspective."

This analysis rings right to me. As AMD knows one needs customers for a new business. The prospect of few takers was looming for Intel Graphics before the CHPS aquisition.

I think there may be competing interest inside Intel. The most strategic thrust is to compel the mass need for higher performance PC product. Intel does more than anyone else to expand the overall market. I think the strategic guys might care only that AGP graphics is a huge hit and little about who's product gets the prizes.

Then there are those who are charged with the new graphics business who should care very much about market share. It is their life. These guys have the tremendous challenge of going from zip zero to a winning position in graphics, and doing it in Intel style. Needless to say these two camps might not always get along, but regardless of these outcomes Intel will be the winner!
