That is your rather strange interpretation of the reality which is that there was no effort whatsoever to protect the museums. In contrast, a line of armed US soldiers protected the oil ministry. Whatever theories you cook up (ex: "it was a Saddam "crony" who looted the museums", "in all likelihood, imp. artifacts were taken before", etc) are not going to change that FACT, which DOES show very clearly what the priorities of the US/UK forces were.
