LPS5,
Did you know that Gustave claimed that the "liberation of Iraq" was a Pentagon public relations gimmick? His statement and link is below. He could have gotten this straight from al-Sahaf, the Iraqi Minister of Misinformation.
None of us Americans believed al-Sahaf when he claimed that US troops were not in Baghdad. We all saw it happening live on CNN, Fox or CNBC and knew he was lying. But there were a lot of gullible Arab extremists that weren't watching events in real-time and preferred to believe the distorted reports and misinformation of Arab media sources instead.
Looks to me like Gustave was one of them. This guy is the laughing stock of SI, but even worse he doesn't seem to know it. Anybody who is this wrong about events deserves to have his judgment questioned.
"Do you think world opinion's been fooled by the Pentagon's latest PR gimmick? The so-called "liberation" of 25 million Iraqis through two weeks of wanton, indiscriminate bombings?
When Saddam Hussein was strutting about in Baghdad, amidst a cheerful crowd, your PR experts dismissed it as yet another "clone" of Saddam... Well, likewise, I'm afraid the footage of Iraqis hailing their US "liberators" was just a fake cooked up by the CIA. A whole Baghdad surburb was secretly replicated in the Death Valley Natl park (*) and Guantanamo convicts were brought into the sham scenery to play-act as "cheerful Baghdadis"... The resulting video was then released worldwide --like the Bin Laden videos were a coupla months ago. As for the real thing in Iraq, as I said, the hidden agenda carried out by the US war machine rolls on, that is, the West-Bankization of Iraq." - Gustave Jaeger, April 10, 2003
