Don't be such a dupe...kholt is female after all. "He's never been that successful as an actor in any other role. That was the true Alan Alda." The character of Hawkeye was a charmer who could depants most women with his quick wit, a few stiff drinks, and lubricating humor. Real men saw him as a total phoney, sacrificing all integrity to form a wet alliance with the radical left. It was suitable for the genra of the time. Powerful men in the country were being exposed for their corruption. The message from the media was that strong men are evil. The radical left cashed in on that and still are. If Hawkeye went on Oprah and talked about his character and behavior he would be booed off stage by the same women who adore him in real life... Alan Alda has some good qualities but he is definitely a sell out. He'll be on the campaign trail with Hillary.
