Further on this. The reason they won't let me listen to the phones at this time, is the system isn't up just yet. Got to move the oil companies, pipeline companies, fire dept. and the such first. The fiascoes had nothing to do with CDMA, although it makes me wonder about the Primeco people in general. What irrated me was the 'If we can't dazzle them with brillance, then we will buffalo them with B.S.' answers to certain question.
Without being technical, if that is possible, they attempted to replace a Cadillac with an Edsel. I question this paperwork within one minute of reading the engineering. What I got was 'I'm God and I'm never wrong'. I scoffed at this and said it's your money. Two days into attempting to walk across water, I again told this joker it is apples and oranges. It further escalated into a question of my qualifications, which went over real well. I then tore into this pup with professional path calculations off the top of my head. Within about 20 minutes junior realized his mistake. I still was not amused; re-iterated it was his money and spend it any way he felt like, but that his half assing was unacceptable. Shell Oil also rejected this and said they, Primeco, will have to do better.
It has nothing to do with CDMA. It does bring into question, somewhat, Primeco's ramp up. I really discount it as the God mentality. My laidback approach and have worked in the oil patch for 16 years fools people at times. They now are back to what I originally brought up immediately and are in the process of changing the approach. I won't invest in Primeco anytime soon. They are spending big bucks moving people off the PCS freq. In talking with others about this they have generally good things to say, mainly they are busy because of it. It is, in all fairness, a very large and complex endeavour, which will have bumps. GSM is having the same problems. When an engineer's project turns to shit, it's everything and bodies fault. In this case, it was look in the mirror to see where the error is. It happens to us all.
So relax, sip your sherry or port. CDMA is still a great technology that will gain further acceptance. Motorola is doing a demostration in China for CDMA WLL, which is the real future.
