So just pick up one basket now. If that causes the market to drop then you can get the others a little cheaper. A basket sounds like a long term buy and hold situation. Buy and check at the end of each week/month and rebalance if necessary. Some will be up and some down but you should mirror the market. As suggested you might consider ETFs, diversification at less cost. SPY, DIA & QQQ would give you all the diversification you want. You could consider dollar cost averaging into these. An account with IB would cost you a penny a share.
