During the period of the Oslo accords, there was no "brutal occupation."

The ratios have been changing. More recently the Pals have done much worse.

The status quo is destroying the Pals. The terrorists are giving Sharon the opportunity to control the situation. A continuation will make the facts on the ground an insurmountable barrier to any Pal aspirations, and that is the good scenario for them.
