My analysis: Forecast EPS in 1997 are between $1.85-$199 with its current price at $20 and a PE at 10.
Next year estimated EPS in 1998 between $2.34-$2.40 and maintaining its current PE of 10, I would expect the stock price to be worth at least $24 next year. Its basically a boring company in a boring business. The kind of company guru Peter Lynch likes to buy. I don't know what the average industry PE is for these companies is, but its in a niche geographic area. I believe 70% of the shares are owed by another insurance company. Its a spin off. The shareholding is quite stable and the stock price should remain stable as well. I just want it to pull back a bit so I can buy more shares on weakness.
The industry is so heavily regulated by the government. It has to maintain the strictest financial accounting ratios - I don't expect any nasty surprises. I'm leaving it in my long term portfolio.
