Spring flood levels in Moscow region fell

Moscow river subsided to summer levels. As the flood threat for nearby facilities no longer exists (except for the lower reach of the river), AO MOSENERGO's emergency commission cancelled duty service for personnel and emergency teams at the company's branches.

However, at the lower reach of Moscow river near Kolomna and at Oka river between Serpukhov and Kashira AO MOSENERGO continues to closely monitor the situation caused by spring snowmelting. AO MOSENERGO teams continue to work for 24 hours. The emergency teams pay special attention to technical water supply, aiming to prevent water littering. Oka water levels are still not high and even start subsiding. The average daily water decline in Oka is around 10 cm. The maximum water levels were registered on April 22-24, when they went up by 5 m.

As a result of the well-organized effort, there was not a single power failure in the Moscow region from the start of the spring snow melting. According to AO MOSENERGO's emergency commission, water levels will return to normal in 4-5 days and the snowmelting peaks will be finally over, unless there are pouring rains.
