Everybody disparaged Scott Ritter, but he said when the invasion started (or just before) on Democracy Now that he did not believe that Iraq had WMD. We've just gone past the 2nd or 3rd false positive, too, and all the top "urgent" sites have been visited already.

The joke, however, is on the world. If false pretexts are used, well... we're there now, aren't we? Just where we want to be.

I've said for some time that I thought WMD would be found, but I do have my doubts now. Bush's comment that they may have gotten rid of them on the war's eve was about par for the course for how this administration views the intelligence of Americans.

It does puzzle me, though -- if they didn't have WMD, then why is it that SH allowed the invasion to take place? What was in it for him? It will make more sense if he turns up in another country living high off the hog someday.
