I think 9/11 has changed the character of our country for worse. We went to war against Iraq because it could not prove that it did not have WMD. Guess what ? We cant find WMD in Iraq either ? Reminds me of the medieval trials for witchcraft where the suspected witch was dunked in water. If the suspected witch did not drown, she was hanged for witchcraft. If she died due to drowning, too bad, that she was innocent. Mike Awash appears to have become a disturbed person having lost his father and his job at Intel just prior to September 11. Losing a job from a demanding high tech company, can lead to a re-entry emotional crisis. Poor Mike's 'weird behavior' and a Moslem/Palestinian background and a sudden association with the "wrong crowd", automatically implies Guilt to lot of paranoid people. Mike is doomed. He will have to prove his innocence, and the state will not have to prove his guilt.
