Acuson has shown 4 qtrs of record earnings in a row... this corresponds to their release of the sequoia technology which is a real advance in ultrasound. Acuson defined a new price level for ultrasound machines from the max at 200k to 400k. Also the ultrasound market has grown for the first time in 5 years. If you look at the 5 year history of acuson, it's decline mirrored the commodification of ultrasound machines... that is no significant technological advance occured, so everyone competed on price pressure... acuson did not very well here... but they were developing the sequoia technology and recently released 2nd harmonic imaging... What you see is an opportunity to buy and the recommenders are noting that... buy for the future here... CAVEAT: I'm an engineer working at acuson.
