It's the weather... Silicon Valley will always be overpriced because when all those overseas workers get rich, they will want to move here. And nobody wants to move away. Seriously though, I find this recent discussion very engaging. Employee compensation/retention vs competitiveness is a very sensitive and important topic. Return on investment certainly depends in large part on this calculation. How is employee morale and loyalty these days? Productivity scales accordingly, or is that a bad assumption?
