French unemployment climbs to 9.3 percent in March

PARIS (AP) -- France's unemployment rate rose to 9.3 percent in March, its highest level in 2-1/2 years, the Labor Ministry reported Wednesday.

The increase from 9.2 percent in February pointed to ongoing weakness in the euro zone's second-biggest economy and raises the risk that consumer spending will remain under pressure, economists said.
