I don't know whether there was even a possibility of bringing a counter-offer to the table or if it was a "take it or leave it" thing. The points of rejection were obvious enough. If the Israeli side would not bulge on any of them, then they have already rejected a possible counter-offer, right?

I certainly accept that it was unacceptable to the Pals. It was unacceptable to many Israelis. Yet, it was, by far, the best offer, to date

And hence, should be accepted? And its rejection means Palestinians are only interested in destroying Israel? Not sure about that...

There was an improved offer made at Taba after this "Barak Offer"

Could you shortly explain what the improvements were? I am not that familiar with the Taba version.
