Please don't forget that the first bloodshed in this second Intifada was the small boy who was machine-gunned while his father vainly tried to protect him.
...And that led to retaliation which led to retaliation...and son on until the situation escalated to a return of suicide bombing.

The tragic truth of the matter is that there were no suicide bombings in retaliation for the failure of the talks - because the radical elements were happy that the talks had failed. However, if the talks had succeeded then the suicide bombing would have started in an effort to destroy the peace plan.

And that is the greatest obstacle to peace - the minority who refuse to accept co-existance at any cost. And don't forget that there is also an Israeli contingent in that minority.
