BTW - the administration's explanation for why they are playing hardball with the French and pattycakes with the Russians - "We believe we have a good relationship with Putin which will help us work through these difficulties." ...(Translation: We have them by the economic balls so we believe we can control them.) It's beginning to look as though Vladamir sees things differently. Good for the Russians - it's about time that they started reforming their national identity.
