Oh really? Keep in mind the example is the boxing ring thread. Do you go to movies where there is no conflict or read literature where there is no opposition presented in the plot. Tension and the prospect of moving it, or seeing it rise toward the breaking point, is attractive and interesting. It is interesting because it forces us to move and grow in our understanding of what makes the universe tic.

Artificial baiting? I think you mean provoking someone into an arguement that they would otherwise ignore. If you know they have a position that is not being voiced, why not?
