This is hard to believe, but I've had conversations with war-supporters on this, and gotten the following response: "I know they gave some phony reasons for the war, but Bush had to do it to get it through Congress and the UN" I heard this more than once from ordinarily "conservative" people, who didn't realize they were therefore admitting support for a Stalinist regime of gov't lies and removal of all citizen rights under threat of the secret use of force. Absolutely incredible how successful gov't-controlled media has been in corrupting citizens into irresponsible, lazy and good-for-nothing robots, who are willing to allow gov't deception and mass killings. Eventually, their argument gets around to this: "ITS OK BECAUSE BUSH IS A CONSERVATIVE", when the idiots don't stop to think this is the most "liberal" gov't-is-in-charge-of-everything power-mongering president in history. The bottom line is that gov't not only knows what is good for you, it also will TELL YOU LIES AND YOU WILL LIKE IT. They will eventually wake up when their friends are taken in the dead of night, the weak ones first, then the more capable when the troops are in the streets.
